Masjid video case, our artists are lying boldly, Shahbaz Gul

Dr. Shahbaz Gul, Special Assistant to Prime Minister Imran Khan, has said on the issue of shooting a music video in Wazir Khan Mosque that our artists are lying boldly.

Actress Saba Qamar and singer Bilal Saeed have come under fire for shooting a video inside a mosque after a music video recording surfaced at Lahore's historic Wazir Khan Mosque. Even Punjab Chief Minister Usman Bazdar and Provincial Minister for Endowments have taken notice of filming songs in the mosque for violating the sanctity of the mosque by dancing in the mosque.

On the other hand, Saba Qamar and Bilal Saeed, while releasing an explanatory statement regarding the video on social media, said that only scenes of the marriage ceremony have been filmed in the mosque and music is not included in the background of these scenes. However, a video of Saba Qamar and Bilal Saeed circulating on social media in which both are dancing inside the mosque.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) spokesman and special assistant to Prime Minister Imran Khan, Dr Shahbaz Gul, while sharing the same video circulating on social media on Twitter, slammed Saba Qamar and Bilal Saeed and said, It has been said that only the marriage scene was shot in the mosque.

Artists and writers promote ethics in society. They are gardeners of moral values. Even some of our artists lie with boldness. The disrespect of the mosque is not acceptable in any case.

Dr. Shahbaz Gul further said that the talk of wedding photo shoot in Masjid Wazir Khan Lahore has started and now it has reached to music videos. Masjid is the house of Allah and we have to respect it and should be used for worship and social welfare work.
