Facebook has removed the option to 'like' pages

Facebook has announced the removal of the option to "like" the pages of celebrities and brands.



According to the company's blog post released on Wednesday, the option to like artists, public figures and brands on Facebook pages is being removed.



The company says that with the new design of public pages, these pages will now be visible only to followers and through a regular news feed, users will be able to interact with these pages in two ways, as well as personalities will be able to keep in touch with their fans and followers. 



"We're removing the likes option from public pages and focusing on followers," Facebook said in a blog post about the new page design.
