The restaurant owner found it expensive to make fun of the employee's English


ISLAMABAD:

A video of an expensive restaurant owner mocking her manager's English has gone viral and has been widely criticized by social media users.



A video was shared by a woman who owns an expensive restaurant in Islamabad, Cannoli by Cafe Soul, in which she introduces her manager and asks him in English how long he has been working in the restaurant and how much English have you learned during this period?



In response, the manager tries to speak in English and can't speak much, to which both women laugh, to which the manager becomes embarrassed.



Following the release of the video, the behavior of women on social media has been described as tantamount to harassment of their employees and is also seen as a form of class discrimination and ridicule of the less educated.

An alleged apology from the restaurant owner is also circulating on social media, saying she was only joking with the manager and not intended to insult or ridicule him.



A social media user said that according to the video, the manager has been working in the restaurant for the last nine years, but it is ridiculous to ignore his dedication and hard work and make fun of him for not being fluent in English.

Some commentators on the incident believe it is a drama created for the restaurant's reputation, and soon the two will apologize and praise their manager.
