Important breakthroughs in the treatment of coronavirus with the simplest drug

Experts at Monash University in Australia have found "Ivermectin", a generic drug that eliminates variations, during experiments on cells (cell cultures) stored in petri dishes.

The results of their research have been published online in the latest issue of Research Journal "Antiviral Research".

Ivermectin is already widely used in the treatment of various infections (parasites). When tested on cell culture-infected cells during experiments on cell culture, it reduced the corona virus particles by 5,000 times in just 48 hours.

However, he also warns that unless the effects of this drug on the corona virus have been proven to be appropriate in humans, it should not be used in treatment.

آئیورمیکٹن پہلے ہی مختلف طفیلیوں (پیراسائٹس) سے ہونے والی بیماریوں کے علاج میں عام استعمال ہورہی ہے۔ سیل کلچر پر تجربات کے دوران جب یہ دوا ناول کورونا وائرس سے متاثرہ خلیوں پر آزمائی گئی تو اس نے صرف 48 گھنٹوں کے دوران کورونا وائرس کے ذرّات میں 5000 گنا کمی کردی۔

تاہم، انہوں نے خبردار بھی کیا ہے کہ جب تک کورونا وائرس پر اس دوا کے اثرات انسانوں میں بھی مناسب طور پر ثابت نہ ہوجائیں، تب تک اسے علاج میں استعمال نہ کیا جائے۔
