فاکس نیوز کو دیے گئے انٹرویو میں امریکی صدر ڈونلڈ ٹرمپ کا کہنا تھا کہ چینی صدر شی جن پنگ سے اچھے تعلقات ہیں لیکن اس وقت ان سے بالکل بات نہیں کرنا چاہتا کیونکہ چین کی جانب کورونا وائرس پر قابو پانے سے متعلق معاملے پر سخت مایوسی کا سامنا کرنا پڑا، چین کے خلاف کارروائی میں امریکا کچھ بھی کرسکتا ہے بلکہ بہت کچھ کرسکتا ہے، ہم چین سے نہ صرف تمام تعلقات ختم کرسکتے ہیں بلکہ اس معاملے نے جنوری میں بیجنگ سے ہونے والے تجارتی معاہدے کو بھی متاثر کیا ہے۔

واضح رہے کہ کورونا وائرس کی وبا کے آغاز سے ہی امریکا اور چین کے درمیان کشیدگی میں اضافہ ہوگیا تھا اور صدر ڈونلڈ ٹرمپ نے مہلک وائرس کی ووہان لیبارٹری میں تیاری کا الزام عائد کیا تھا جس پر چین نے دعویٰ کیا تھا کہ کورونا وائرس امریکی فوجی ووہان لائے تھے۔
