Paris:
The
Financial Action Task Force has decided to keep Pakistan on the gray list till
next year 2021 and thus India's efforts to blacklist Pakistan have failed.
The
three-day virtual meeting of the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) ended
yesterday. The meeting reviewed Pakistan's measures against money laundering
and terror financing.
At
the end of the virtual meeting, the President of FATF said during the press
conference that Pakistan will be included in the gray list of FATF for the time
being, Pakistan will remain in the gray list till February 2021, Pakistan has
implemented 21 out of 27 points. What's more, Pakistan will have to implement
the remaining 6 points as well.
The
President of FATF said that Pakistan has shown progress on all the action
points and there is progress and desire to implement 27 points in Pakistan.
When Pakistan will ensure implementation of all 27 points then a team will
visit Pakistan.
The
FATF President said that the purpose of his visit to Pakistan would be to
review the ground realities and check before the next meeting whether Pakistan
was effectively implementing these points while North Korea and Iran were
blacklisted.
