Paris:
The
leader of France's far-right National Front (FN) has called for a complete ban
on Muslim women covering their heads in public.
In a TV interview yesterday, Marine Le Pen said
in response to a question that the rapid increase in the number of women
wearing the hijab in France since 1989 is a sign of the rapid spread of Islam
in France.
Marine Le Pen claimed that a declaration of
war had been made in France and that we too had to fight a war with an
ideology, not a country, which was against France.
The idea is anti-French, Marine Le Pen,
however, refrained from supporting organizations calling for the closure of
mosques and the expulsion of foreigners.
It should be noted that a new wave of
Islamophobia has arisen in France after the re-publication of blasphemous
sketches. The French president's decision to publish anti-Islamic statements
and sketches has sparked a wave of unrest among Muslims around the world, while
anti-Islam and anti-Muslim activities have increased in France.
