Pakistani villager urges India to return 'spy' pigeon:
After strong criticism and humiliation on social media, the Indian police released the alleged Pakistani spy pigeon, who was arrested two days ago. The owner of the female pigeon, Habibullah, is awaiting his return.

Shalindar Kumar, senior superintendent of police in Kathua, Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, confirmed that a Pakistani pigeon caught two days ago had been released. Indian police had claimed that the spy was a pigeon with a mobile number written on a plastic ring inserted into its claws, which Indian police had given a secret code.

After the incident, Habibullah, a resident of Baga village in Shakargarh, a border area of ​​Pakistan, made a statement saying that the pigeon caught in India was his property. This female pigeon did not return. Habibullah also said that his mobile number was written on the plastic rings.

After this statement came to light, the Indian police and the media started criticizing on social media. To avoid this embarrassment, the Indian police have released the pigeon.

When contacted by the Express, Habibullah said he was happy that his pigeon had been released but that it would have been better if it had been returned instead of being released into the air.

He said that now his eyes are waiting for the return of his pigeon, he had prepared this pigeon for the competition, if the pigeon comes back, I will fly it in the competition.

The Kashmir region is claimed by both India and Pakistan, and is the scene of regular military exchanges between the nuclear-armed neighbours.

This is not the first time a pigeon flying from Pakistan has landed in trouble with Indian officials.

In May 2015, a white pigeon was arrested after it was spotted by a 14-year-old boy in a village close to the border.

And in October 2016, another pigeon was taken into custody after it was found with a note threatening the Indian prime minister.

The two nations have been rivals for a long time, with the last full war between them taking place in 1971.

مقبوضہ جموں و کشمیر کے علاقہ کاتھوا کے سینئر پولیس سپرٹنڈنٹ شالیندر کمار نے اس بات کی تصدیق کی کہ دو روز قبل پکڑے جانے والے پاکستانی کبوتر کو چھوڑ دیا گیا ہے۔ بھارتی پولیس نے دعویٰ کیا تھا کہ یہ جاسوس کبوتر ہے جس کے پنجوں میں ڈالے گئے پلاسٹک کے چھلے پر ایک موبائل نمبر لکھا تھا جسے بھارتی پولیس نے ایک خفیہ کوڈ بتایا تھا۔

اس واقعہ کے بعد پاکستان کے سرحدی علاقہ شکر گڑھ کے گاؤں بگا کے رہائشی حبیب اللہ کا بیان سامنے آیا، اس نے کہا تھا کہ بھارت میں پکڑا جانے والا کبوتر اس کی ملکیت ہے، اس نے عید کے روز کبوتر اڑائے تھے مگر گولڈن نسل کی یہ مادہ کبوتری واپس نہیں آئی۔ حبیب اللہ نے یہ بھی کہا تھا کہ پلاسٹک کے چھلے پر اس کا موبائل نمبر لکھا ہوا ہے۔

یہ بیان سامنے آنے کے بعد سوشل میڈیا پر بھارتی پولیس اور میڈیا پر خوب تنقید شروع ہوگئی، اس شرمندگی سے بچنے کے لیے بھارتی پولیس نے کبوتر کو آزاد کردیا ہے۔

ایکسپریس کے رابطہ کرنے پر حبیب اللہ نے بتایا کہ اسے خوشی ہے کہ اس کے کبوتر کو آزاد کردیا گیا ہے لیکن اگر اسے فضا میں چھوڑنے کے  بجائے اسے واپس کردیا جاتا تو زیادہ اچھا ہوتا، اس نے کہا اب اس کی آنکھیں اپنے کبوتر کی واپسی کی منتظر ہیں، اس نے یہ کبوتر مقابلے کے لیے تیار کیا تھا اگر کبوتر واپس آگیا تو اسے مقابلے میں اڑاؤں گا۔
