Protests against racial hatred continue in the United States, more than 10,000 arrested

More than 10,000 people have been arrested in protests that have rocked the United States since the police killing of George Arbery, an unarmed Black man, according to an Associated Press tally. 

According to a foreign news agency, 86% of those arrested are from the US capital. In addition, 2 million has been raised in an online fund set up in Los Angeles for the release of 3,000 people arrested during the protests that began after the death of black George Floyd in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Clashes broke out between police and protesters in different cities. Police used tear gas and baton charges. National guards were deployed to stop looting. Security of important buildings has been handed over to the army.

Following intense public pressure, more stringent provisions were added to the case against the main accused, a white police officer. Three other police officers were also charged in the case. Six police officers were fired and charged with abuse of power against protesters in Atlanta.

The movement against racism and hatred of the black community has spread across the country. Angry protesters rallied in New York, Washington, New Orleans and Minnesota. Thousands take to the streets to demand justice for George Floyd.

Defense Secretary Mark Asper became opposed to President Trump's policy on protests. He said in the media briefing,Police in riot gear stormed a rally on Friday, removing hundreds of protesters by truck. Former Secretary of Defense James Mattis has said that Donald Trump is the first president who is not trying to unite the American people.

امریکا میں پولیس کے تشدد سے سیاہ فام شہری کی ہلاکت پر شروع ہونے والا احتجاج تحریک میں تبدیل ہو گیا ہے اور پورے ملک میں جاری مظاہروں سے 10 ہزار افراد کو گرفتار کیا جاچکا ہے۔

غیر ملکی  خبر رساں ادارے کے مطابق گرفتار ہونے والوں میں سے 86 فی صد کا تعلق امریکا کے دارالحکومت سے ہے۔ اس کے علاوہ ریاست منی سوٹا کے شہر منیاپلس میں سیاہ فام جارج فلائیڈ کی موت بعد شروع ہونے والے  احتجاج کے دوران گرفتار ہونے والے 3ہزار سے افراد کی رہائی کے لیے لاس اینجلس میں قائم کردہ آن لائن فنڈ میں 20 لاکھ ڈالر کی رقم بھی جمع ہوچکی ہے۔

شدید عوامی دباو کے بعد واقعے کے مرکزی ملزم سفید فام پولیس اہلکار کے خلاف مقدمے میں مزید سخت دفعات شامل کر دی گئیں۔ تین دیگر پولیس اہلکاروں کو بھی مقدمے میں شامل کر لیا گیا ۔اٹلانٹا شہر میں مظاہرین کیخلاف طاقت کے بے جا استعمال پر چھ پولیس اہلکاروں کو برطرف کر کے فرد جرم عائد کر دی گئی ۔

مختلف شہروں میں پولیس اور مظاہرین کے درمیان جھڑپیں ہوئیں۔ پولیس نے آنسو گیس اور لاٹھی چارج کا استعمال کیا۔ لوٹ مار روکنے کیلئے نیشنل گارڈ تعینات کر دئیے گئے۔ اہم عمارتوں کی سیکیورٹی فوج کے حوالے کر دی گئی ہے۔

نسل پرستی اور سیاہ فام برادری سے منافرت کے خلاف تحریک پورے ملک میں پھیل گئی ہے۔ نیو یارک، واشنگٹن، نیو اورلینزاور مینی سوٹا میں مشتعل مظاہرین نے ریلیاں نکالیں۔ مقتول جارج فلائیڈ کیلئے انصاف کا  مطالبہ کرنے کے لیے ہزاروں افراد سڑکوں پر نکلے۔

وزیر دفاع مارک ایسپر مظاہروں  بارے صدر ٹرمپ کی پالیسی کے مخالف بن گئے۔۔ میڈیا بریفنگ میں کہاکہ۔۔ مظاہرے ختم کرانے کیلئے پولیس کا استعمال درست نہیں۔ سابق وزیر دفاع جیمز میٹس نے کہاکہ ڈونلڈ ٹرمپ وہ پہلے صدر ہیں جو امریکی عوام کو متحد کرنے کی کوشش نہیں کر رہے۔
