Unique expression of love of fans, statue of 'Ertugrul Ghazi' installed in Lahore

Pakistani fans of the popular Turkish drama "Ertugrul Ghazi" have installed a statue of the main character in a private housing society.

According to posts circulating on social media, the residents of Marghzar Society in Lahore have adopted this unique way of expressing their love for drama. The place where this statue has been installed has also been named as "Ertugrul Chowk".

A Twitter user said that Pakistanis have expressed their love for Ertugrul by installing the statue. "We are grateful to Turkey for highlighting our proud history," he said.

It should be noted that the drama series on the life of the father of Usman I, the founder of the Ottoman Caliphate, titled "Dirilis Ertugrul" in Turkey has broken many records of popularity in Pakistan. The drama is being aired on state television on the special instructions of the Prime Minister.

ترکی کے معروف ڈرامے ’’ارطغرل غازی‘‘ کے پاکستانی مداحوں نے ایک نجی ہاؤسنگ سوسائٹی میں مرکزی کردار کا مجسمہ نصب کردیا۔

سوشل میڈیا پر گردش کرنے والی پوسٹس کے مطابق لاہور میں مرغزار سوسائٹی کے مکینوں ںے ڈرامے کی پسندیدگی کے اظہار کے لیے یہ انوکھا طریقہ اختیار کیا ہے۔ یہ مجسمہ جس جگہ نصب کیا گیا ہے اسے بھی ’’ارطغرل چوک‘‘ کا نام دے دیا گیا ہے۔

ٹویٹر کے ایک صارف کا کہنا تھا کہ مجسمہ نصب کرکے پاکستانیوں نے ارطغرل سے اپنی محبت کا اظہار کیا ہے ہم اپنی قابلِ فخر تاریخ اجاگر کرنے پر ترکی کے شکر گزار ہیں۔

واضح رہے کہ خلافت عثمانیہ کے بانی عثمان اول کے والد کی زندگی پر ترکی میں ’’درلس ارطغرل‘‘ کے نام سے بننے والی ڈرامہ سیریز پاکستان میں مقبولیت کے کئی ریکارڈ توڑ چکی ہے۔ وزیر اعظم کی خصوصی ہدایت پر یہ ڈرامہ سرکاری ٹیلی وژن سے نشر کیا جارہا ہے۔
